about
This song is about my own struggle with depression and how I've kept it hidden, which is something I'm finally starting to open up about. It took me a long time to realize that depression is not shameful and that once you accept it, you need to learn some coping strategies and find a support system which can literally save your life.
Look at me, I’ve got it all
Look at me, tryin to keep it together
Look at me, letting it all slip away
Oh God look at me, look at me, look at me
Why can’t I see when its time, when its time to stop the lies
Why can’t I see what is real, what my life’s supposed to be
Oh why, oh why
I’m getting tired of walking the tight rope
I’m getting tired of running in circles
I’m getting tired of hitting the brick wall
I’m getting tired, getting tired, oh so tired
Why can’t I see when its time, when its time to stop the lies
Why can’t I see what is real, what my life’s supposed to be
Oh why, oh why
How much longer, how much longer
I don’t want to hit rock bottom again
I don’t want to go down that dark lonely road
I don’t want lose it all again
I don’t want to, I don’t want to, I don’t want to, I don’t want to
I don’t want to, I don’t want to, I don’t want to
Why can’t I see when its time, when its time to stop the lies
Why can’t I see what is real, what my life’s supposed to be
Oh why, oh why
